So a couple of days have passed with me staying at Andy's place. I haven't talked to or even seen anyone. It seems like after the whole incident, Rose decided to stop talking to me for some reason. I don't really blame her when I think about it. I would do the same shit if the case were reversed. I didn't give her much information and deep down inside, I knew that me not doing so killed her.
Me and Andy have been hanging out, he was basically the only person who did want to talk to me, as well as James. Andy and I talked, he still used, but I was helping him with that, I guess. The both of us decided that we were better off as friends, and it seemed like after we talked about it, we ended up getting along a whole lot more. James was like a completely different person since I first met him. He had emotions. He talked to me when I just needed to fucking get shit off of my chest.
Edward would come over, acting like I wasn't in the same goddamn room as him, what with the way that he would ignore my existence. Whatever. Blue Eyes would come with him, but all that I ever got from the kid was a wave as he came in and a wave as he left.
J and Pix were, I guess, busy with work, so I wasn't all that surprised. Jake wouldn't answer any of my calls, though. Most of the goddamn time, I would call after leaving numerous messages and his phone would be off. He was ignoring me on purpose, and that kind of scared me. I hoped to God that he wouldn't tell anyone anything.
Em was, I guess, dealing with his issues.
I haven't been getting any goddamn sleep. Like at the fuck all.
I couldn't sleep with the lights off. I would wake up from having crazy nightmares about Phil, the majority of the time. I had this fucking fear, that no matter what I did, or where I hid, he would somehow find me...and finish me off.
Tonight is going to be my first night back at work.
I finally got my cast off, leaving me with a long fucking scar that runs down my thigh, which was excellent. And, I couldn't walk right yet, so yeah...I looked like a moron. I went and saw Carlisle, who told me that he didn't know if I would ever to able to walk the way that I used to again. It wasn't that bad, but of course, I could feel the difference.

My stomach on the other hand, Jesus Christ. I had a jagged scar across my lower back, which I didn't even fucking know about. On my right side, it seemed as if that asshole didn't want me to ever forget that night, what with Phil carving his goddamn name along my skin.
It was fucking outstanding.
I couldn't look in the goddamn mirror for more than two seconds without cringing.
After I took a shower and got dressed for work, I was heading out of the front door when James was heading in. "Bella," he whispered with a grin, nodding at me. "Going back to work, yeah?"
I groaned. "Yeah, I'm kind of going broke, so I definitely need to get back on it."
"I could lend you some money, you know."
I shook my head quickly. "Fuck no." He went to interrupt, but I waved my hand in his face. "Just…no, okay?"
He nodded and I stepped outside, giving him a wave as I headed towards my truck. "Hey, Bella!"
I turned around and raised an eyebrow at him as I opened my door. "What's up?"
"Andy is probably going to be passed out when you get done, but you promised me that you would catch me up with Kill Bill. We didn't finish it last week."
"I still can't believe that you haven't seen that movie! How can you even classify yourself as a human being?"
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. So are we good for tonight?"
"Of course, silly rabbit," I replied, getting into my truck. "Trixs are —"
"For kids," he finished with a laugh as he walked inside. "Stop quoting the fucking movie."
I snorted as I started up my truck, and with one last wave to the kid, I was off.
I pulled up to Eclipse and looked around with a smile tugging over my mouth.
Shit, I missed this place.
It looks like we're starting early, I thought as I stepped into the club. It was crowded as all hell. After I walked into the back room to clock in, I looked up at the big bulletin board to see if there was anything new that was going on, and grinned at the memo that Sam left, talking about how he took his lovely lady away on vacation.
Lucky bastards.
As I made my way over to the bar, I saw Rose, J, and Pix up to their asses with drink orders. Stepping behind the counter, I started working on taking a little bit of each of their sections to ease their hassle, not saying a word to anyone.
J came up to me at one point during the madness and kissed my forehead, causing me to look up at him. "I'm glad that you're feeling better," he started, taking the bottle that I held for one of my regulars before popping the cap off.
"You've been ignoring my calls," I accused, taking the bottle back and giving it to my customer. "Is something wrong?"
"Not a big deal, right?" he whispered, using air quotes. "Just like you said, I'm okay."
Looking away from him, I nodded. "So it's like that, yeah?"
He slapped my shoulder and when I looked up at him again, he nodded as he walked away from me. "Yep."
This is great.
No, really. My life is fucking perfect right now.
After an hour of absolute chaos, it calmed down a little bit and I relaxed some, taking over Jake's section as he took his break, all the while avoiding the goddamn elephant in the room.
Rose hasn't said one word to me yet.
Not even a glance in my way.
Pixie screeched as she ran over to me and I grimaced. "Bella Boo!" she screamed, wrapping her arms around my shoulders. "I'm glad that you're feeling better. I know that there's a bug going around."
Hmm. So Rose and Jake haven't said anything to her. Glad to know.
"Yeah," I whispered, hugging her back. "Fucking cold."
She hummed in agreement as she leaned back. "Well, I'm going to go and take my break, I need to pee."
I nodded before she ran off. I looked over at Rose just in time to see her turn her glaring eyes away from me.
She was clearly, still pissed off at me.
"Look, Rose," I started with a roll of my eyes as I walked up to her, "I don't know wha—"
"Do I hear something?" she asked, no one in particular.
Amazing. Looks like we're back in middle school.
"Rose, can you sto—"
I didn't get a chance to finish my goddamn sentence because she decided to just walk away from me.
Nice. Appreciation noted. Thanks.
The night got busier, and I got even more tired. My leg was sore, but I hated taking the pain medication that Carlisle had prescribed for me, because it made me nothing but goddamn loopy.
As I was pouring some drunk older man his third shot of tequila, I felt someone staring at me from behind and turned around, only to see Edward sitting on one of the stools that were placed across the bar, in my section.
And he knew that it was my section.
I guess someone decided that they wanted to talk to me, finally.
"Hey, lady! Come on with the alcohol, I'm getting old here," the drunk older man slurred in front of me.
I turned around and glared at him. "Well goddamn! I better hurry up, because if you're getting any older than you are now, shit. I also better get hospice on call, yeah?"
He gaped at me. "Uh—"
"Oh, save your breath, old man!" I interrupted, sliding his shot glass across the counter and grinning when he caught it. "Before you actually go into cardiac arrest." He laughed and I leaned across the counter and slapped his shoulder, teasing him. "It's on the house, don't worry about it."
After thanking me, he tossed the shot back as he stumbled off of his stool. I laughed before I turned around to start heading over to the prick whose been ignoring my being for God only knows what reason. "Well, isn't this a goddamn pleasure," I whispered when I reached the kid.
"Bella," he nodded, greeting me.
"What can I get for you?"
He grinned. "Miller Lite sounds good."
Keeping my eyes on him as he kept his own on mine, I bent down a bit to grab a bottle of what he wanted. "I guess that you're done pretending that I don't exist, yeah?"
He shrugged in nonchalance while I uncapped his order. "Seems so."
I nodded in return as I placed the bottle on top of the counter before sliding it over to him. "Seems so."
"Bella!"
Looking over the prick's shoulder, I grinned at James as he winked at me, heading over to the bar. Pulling up a stool, he took a seat next to Edward, who in response raised an eyebrow at him before returning his attention back to me as I grabbed a bottle of Coors Light and uncapped it. "What are you doing here?" I asked, sliding it to him.
"I'm bored," he stated before he turned towards Edward and took a sip of his beer. Placing the bottle on top of the counter when he was done, he nudged his shoulder. "E, I haven't seen you around, man. What's up?"
Edward ignored him as he looked at me, then at James, and then back at me again.
"What's your deal?"
"What's your deal?"
Keeping his eyes on mine, he ignored my question and answered James. "I've been busy, you know how it is."
"It's all good, I understand," James replied, patting his back. "Oh shit, before I forget..." He pulled his jacket open and brought out some kind of an envelope before he handed it over to Edward. "This is for last week."
Edward nodded as he shoved it into his own jacket pocket, acting all suspect while he avoided my eyes.
"Alright," James whispered, standing up as he threw a ten dollar bill on top of the counter. "I have to head out and do some shit, but you," he pointed at me, "don't forget about tonight."
"James! It's your baby!" I mocked dramatically.
James acted like he pulled a gun out of his pocket before aiming it at my forehead. After he 'pulled the trigger,' I gasped and fell down onto the counter, dead. "See you later, Black Mamba," he laughed, walking backwards.
When he reached the doors, I lifted my head, hearing Edward clearing his throat. Looking over at the kid, both of my eyebrows raised, seeing as to how he was blatantly staring at me in some incredulous type of a manner. "Quoting Kill Bill, though?
"So?" I asked.
"Wow," he whispered slowly, sarcastically. "No, no, I mean...that's nice."
I rolled my eyes at him before I looked over at the clock that was by the fridge. Noticing that it was about time to start closing up the place for the night, I turned my attention to Jake with a grin. "We're hitting two A.M!"
Placing two of his fingers into his mouth, J whistled. "Last call, motherfuckers! This ain't no place of slumber!"
I shook my head, pursing my lips together. "Nice, Black."
He shrugged before slapping Pixie's ass, causing her to smack the back of his head in retaliation. "Imbecile!"
I turned my attention back to Edward as he was pulling money out of his pocket. I leaned against the counter and pushed his hands away when he went to drop it. "No worries, it's on the house."
"Bella, I got i—"
"What did I just say?" I interrupted.
He laughed as he placed the cash back into his pocket. "Thanks, Bae."
I nodded, and he stayed put. I raised an eyebrow at him, and he shrugged before he leaned over the counter to grab another Miller Lite bottle. "Help yourself," I whispered with a smile as he used his keys to pop the cap off.
"If you insist," he smirked as he lifted the beer bottle up to his mouth.
As I was helping J clean up the bar after Pix and Rose left for the night, I looked over at the stool that Edward was sitting on a couple of minutes ago and found it empty. "Goodbye to you, too, asshole," I mumbled.
J looked over at me with a raised eyebrow as he ran the wet rag that he was holding across the counter. "So, what the hell is the deal with you two?"
I paused from sweeping the floor and looked over at him. "Deal?"
"Deal as in...when the two of you are in the same room, you kids are either fighting like maniacs or, he's your best friend, driving your ass home all the time."
I rolled my eyes as I started sweeping again. "How do you know that he drives me home, Jake? You're hardly around."
"I know shit, Bells. I'm not retarded." I raised a brow at him, and he rolled his eyes before he clarified. "Okay, at least I'm not that retarded."
I sighed as I placed the broom against the wall. "He's just a friend, Jake. And sometimes, not even that."
"Foreplay," he simply stated.
My eyes snapped to his. "What?"
"The way that you guys fight? It's fucking foreplay."
"Oh, get real," I scoffed. "Foreplay, though?"
He nodded as he tossed the dirty rag into the bucket that was placed by my feet. "That kid has it in for you, Bells. It's just a matter of time before he charms you his way."
Leaning against the counter, I cocked my head to the side a bit and placed my arms across my chest. "J, can I ask you something?"
"Of course."
"How did it happen? Was it medication maybe, or surgery?"
His eyebrows scrunched together as he scratched the back of his head. "Huh?"
"Vagina. How did you grow one?"
He gave me the finger and I shrugged before he turned around to head over to the backroom. "Fuck off."
I laughed as I pushed myself off of the counter. "Oh, rub some dirt in it, you she-male!"
Jake left me to lock up Eclipse after clocking out, making sure that I was cool before doing so. He was in some hyperactive rush to get back home, claiming that there was a Baywatch marathon showing on late night TV.
Creep.
After stepping outside and closing the door in front of me, I went to lock up, but I felt as if someone was just...
There.
As soon as someone's fingers pulled my hoodie down from my head, I closed my eyes and screamed, loud as a motherfucker. "Shit, Bae!" Edward's voice whispered behind me before his hand covered my mouth. "It's me! Christ!"
I turned around and pushed him away from me with one hand, my other one over my chest. "You scared the fuck out of me, Edward!"
"I'm sorry," he mumbled, taking a hold of my free hand and placing it in his warm one. "Are you good?"
I waved my other hand in the air, dismissing his apology. "What are you doing here? I thought that you left?"
"I did," he whispered with a nod. "But I came back to ask you if you wanted to stay at my place tonight."
I raised an eyebrow at him as I let go of his hand. "And why would I stay at your place tonight?"
Running his fingers through his hair, he grumbled in displeasure. "My cousin is staying at Alice's apartment for the night, and I'm bored as fuck."
I laughed at the asshole. "So, you want my company, because you're bored?"
He nodded like 'didn't I just tell you that?'
"Well I can't help you with that," I whispered, walking past him. "I'll talk to you later, I guess. Night."
"Hey."
I continued heading towards my truck, ignoring his little 'Hey.'
As soon as I reached my spot, his body appeared in front of mine and blocked my door. "Why can't you?"
"Because I promised James that I would watch Kill Bill with him tonight," I answered, pushing him away before unlocking and pulling my door open. "So if you don't mind, I should get going. Goodnight, Edward."
His eyebrows scrunched together as I took a seat. Before I had the chance to shut the door on him and leave, he reached out and grabbed a hold of it. "So what if you promised James?"
"So, I'm going to go and watch it with him," I hissed. "Now fucking move out of my way."
"What's going on with you?" he asked me in some annoyed type of a way as he did what I told him to do.
I ignored his ass, just like he ignored my own for these past few days. Giving him the middle finger, I slammed my door shut and started up my truck before I drove the fuck away, leaving his disbelief looking being behind.
I opened the front door to Andy's house and rolled my eyes, seeing him passed out on the couch with a bunch of beer cans scattered across the table and the floor. After locking up, I walked into the living room and started picking shit up, groaning from the soreness of my leg as I kept bending over. "Fuck my life."
"Hey," James whispered, walking out of the kitchen. "What are you doing?"
"Cleaning up after Andy, of course."
"Are you hurt?" he asked when he saw me wince. I shook my head, and he raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong with your leg?"
"Nothing," I said quickly. "I just hurt myself earlier, banging it into the dresser when I got out of the shower."
He nodded as he started heading over to the couch. "Well chill out. Let's just get him to bed and tomorrow, he could clean it up. It's his shit, not yours."
"Okay," I agreed, walking over to the other side of the couch. "Thanks."
James took a hold of his cousin's shoulders and pulled him up before throwing one of Andy's arms around his neck. I grabbed a hold of his other one and laid it over my shoulder. We carried him into his room and placed him on top of his bed, over the covers. After turning the lights off, we closed the door behind us.
Looking over at me as we entered the living room, he smiled. "I have the movie in the VCR, so it's ready."
I nodded — kind of proud of the kid — as we sat down on the couch and got comfortable. As he leaned over to turn the lights off, I grabbed a hold of his arm and stopped him. "Uh, can we just keep the lights on, maybe?"
"Afraid of the dark?" he asked with amusement within his voice. I sat back as I started tugging on the bottom hem of my hoodie. "Hey, B. It's cool, we'll keep the lights on," he whispered after a couple of seconds, shaking his head. "My bad, I was just fucking around."
"It's alright," I whispered, lifting my feet up to the couch as I grabbed the remote.
After I hit play and let the move start, he reached into his back jean pocket and pulled a baggie out. Looking over his shoulder, he raised an eyebrow at me. "You don't mind, right?"
I shrugged before I wrapped my arms around my thighs. "No. Do whatever you want to do."
"Whatever I want, huh?" he laughed, spilling the white powder onto the table.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "James, what are you talking about?"
Looking over his shoulder again, he let his eyes run down my legs before they returned to my face. "You really shouldn't say shit like that, B."
I slapped with shoulder as I snorted. "You're such an asshole, dude."
"What?" he asked, returning his attention back to the table. "You aren't a fucking eye sore, you know."
"Right," I mumbled.
"I'm serious, Bella. You seem to think that you're something horrible to look at, but you aren't."
"Okay, James. Whatever you say," I whispered with a roll of my eyes as I sat up so that we were shoulder to shoulder. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
He nodded before he leaned back a bit to pull out a fifty dollar bill. "Go ahead," he whispered, rolling it up.
"Why do you use?"
"Because it gets me through some hard times," he answered with a shrug.
"Everyone goes though hard times," I countered. "But, you have to know that it isn't right, yeah?"
"I know that," he whispered, leaning back into the couch. I followed suit, keeping my eyes on him as I waited for the kid to continue. "But, man..." he paused, looking up at the ceiling. "You wouldn't even understand the feeling that you get when you do this shit unless you've done it before." Meeting my gaze again, he shook his head. "Everything just fucking...I don't know...disappears, I guess."
Looking down at my lap, I nodded. I felt him sit up before I heard him breath in the drug. Lifting my eyes, I watched as the dollar bill fell out of his fingers while he leaned back, complete satisfaction written across his entire being as he laid the back of his head against the couch and smiled. "That must be nice," I began in a soft whisper. "For everything to just disappear."
"It is," he hummed as he opened his eyes. "Just to have your mind blank for —"
"One single minute," I finished, closing my eyes as I placed my chin on top of my knees. "Yeah, I know."
"Hey," he whispered, breaking me out of my thoughts. "Do you want to talk about it?"
I shrugged. "It's not a big deal, just life in fucking general."
James sat up after a minute or two and licked one of his fingers before running it across the remaining powder and bringing it into his mouth. "Tell me about it."
"It's just bullshit, James."
"Well, I want to know," he whispered before he shook his head at me. "And, before you start...don't give me any of that bullshit about how you think that you're alone here. My fucking problems would blow yours away."
"Look," I started, "I know that you're cool and all, but I just don't fe—"
"Too soon?" he interrupted me with a raised eyebrow.
I nodded, returning his smile. "Too soon."
"Understood."
Halfway Through Kill Bill
My eyelids started closing and I growled, frustrated with my old ass behavior. James turned his attention away from the TV and grinned, meeting my sleepy form. "What's up?"
"I'm so fucking tired, but I want nothing more than to finish watching this movie."
He laughed as he pushed himself off of the couch. "Bella, you have this goddamn movie memorized. Just go to sleep, we'll watch the rest of it some other time."
"You sure?" I asked.
He nodded as he stretched. "Plus, we have Edward's birthday thing tomorrow night at his place."
My jaw dropped in offense. "He didn't tell me that it was his birthday tomorrow, that prick."
"I'm not that surprised," James replied as he started headed towards the front door. "The kid always hated his birthday for some reason, but Jasper is throwing it for him, so he doesn't really have a choice but to show up."
"Not fair," I mumbled to myself, in some pathetic type of a way.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow night, yeah?"
Looking up at James as he stood in front of the door, I placed my arms across my chest. "Who is all going, do you know?"
"Everyone."
"Right," I gritted, standing up from the couch. "How nice of my friends to not say anything about it to me, but what-the fuck-ever."
He grinned as he opened the door. "Later, Bella."
"Later," I mumbled as the door shut behind him.
